Like many artisans, David once had another career. He owned a Dairy Queen for more than 20 years! Woodworking was stress relief. Discovering the lathe was a creative breakthrough in 1987, and by 1995 he had committed to giving up his "day job". He is continually inspired by the wood itself, and loves to see shape emerge from a solid mass.
